Continuing Education Certificate in Building Maintenance Engineer
This noncredit program is ideal fo those seeking to hone their skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC/R, door and lock replacement and appliance repair.
Participants choose from two program options. Both options cover similar skills in up to 28 class sessions, with the more intensive option engaging students whrough hands-on training in several specific trades.

Preparation for the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers’ (NIULPE) Exam
Qualified operating engineers, who are licensed or certified, can advance their careers and broaden their marketability within the construction and development industry. This program prepares engineers for the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers’ third and fourth-class License and for the Maryland third and fourth-class stationary engineer’s certificate.
Taught by a NIULPE instructor and examiner, this multi-session program includes class lectures, field trips and on-site demonstrations.

Continuing Education Certificate in Electrical: Residential Wiring
This certification program offers hands-on lab and lecture courses to train individuals for entry-level careers in residential wiring or to assist current electricians in upgrading their electrical skills.
The four-course program covers basic electricity, blueprint reading and safety education, as well as theory and education on circuits, lighting fixtures and wiring. All instruction for this residential wiring certification follows the National Electrical Code (NEC).

National Electrical Code (NEC): Master’s Exam including Calculations
Covering National Electrical Code, including new code additions and revisions, this course will prepare you for the Master Electrician examination. In addition, this multi-session course provides in-depth study of the required calculations for completing the examination successfully.

Electricians, seeking renewal of their Master’s Electrical License every two years, can earn the 10 hours of qualified continuing education they need with our specially designed courses for the electrical field. Courses include NEC updates and elements of grounding.

Preparation for the Journeyman Plumber Exam
This course prepares plumbers, with a minimum of two years trade experience, for the Journeyman Plumber Exam. Before taking the exam, the State of Maryland requires you to have 7,500 hours of experience working under a Master plumber.

Certificate of General Locksmithing Proficiency
This program will certify your proficiency in locksmithing. The hands-on labs and lecture courses within this one-year program train students for career success in the trade with class topics including impressioning, picking, master keying, specialized locksets, alarm sounding devices, closed circuit television and safe lock troubleshooting.

American Welding Society Certification
This program train new and experienced welders in the welding techniques required for certification in the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code. Through three courses, students participate in welding labs and receive instruction on welding techniques.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Programs
Using the National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) curriculum for HVAC/R study, these courses introduce students to career opportunities in the HVAC/R field, cover tools of the trade and teach trade mathematics. Participants learn the basic principles of electricity, heating and cooling, as well as copper and plastic piping practices, soldering, brazing and ferrous metal piping practices. North American Technical Excellence (NATE) Certiication Testing available.
