The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program, named for a section of the Small Business Act, is a business development program created to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and access the federal procurement market. SMITHSolutions is scheduled to graduate from the program 2010.
The Maryland / Washington DC Minority Supplier Development Council is a regional council of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). The MD/DC Council provides access for the promotion, education, and development of minority business enterprises through the proactive assistance/participation of corporations and MBEs. SMITHSolutions is a certified small business partner with the council.
Nextel’s Supplier Diversity Program (SDP) provides opportunities for all suppliers by enforcing procurements processes that are fair and open to all qualified participants. SMITHSolutions is certified with Nextel to provide network and database security services.
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) administers both the State of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal, as well as the Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal. SMITHSolutions is currently certified to perform State projects.Smithsolutions is in its last stages of the certification process.

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) Small, Local, and Minority Business Enterprise (SLMBE) Program consists of four areas where small, local, and minority business firms can concentrate their efforts in obtaining contractual consideration. These areas are Procurement, Architectural and Engineering, Professional Services and Construction.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's LDBE Program provides opportunities to local small business firms without regard to race or sex. These LDBE firms are eligible for any Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority contract that requires LDBE participation.
The NJ Commerce and Economic Growth Commission’s Uniform Certification Program is established to provide a uniform procedure for certifying businesses owned by minorities and women to participate in public contracts that have designated as set-aside. It is intended to ensure that only bona fide minority-owned business enterprises (MBE) or woman-owned enterprises (WBE) participate in these programs.
